So there are a few cosplay-friendly events coming up this year, including the Cosplay Cape Town socials, as well as Free Comic Book Day in March. There's also rAge but I'm not sure if we can afford to go this year. ;(
Anyway I've been considering doing another cosplay. I have a few ideas but not 100% settled on anything. Of course there are mid-term cosplay goals as well as long-term cosplay goals. Long-term goals would be for more complex costumes, that would take a more experienced cosplayer to pull off. But hey. Let's see where this goes.
I'm putting up this journal to keep a kind of list of characters I'd like to cosplay, as well as to have it function as a kind of suggestion thread. I'm dividing it up into simple and complex cosplays. Simple being ones that I could probably make/buy the parts for myself, and complex being ones I would probably need professional help with. If you are a pro and you want to collaborate with me on a cosplay project, you are more than welcome to throw your name into the hat here!

Things to consider when suggesting:
-I am a very, very beginner-level seamstress. In fact all I've sewn are some pigeon-shaped cotton things and I've put some zips in them (messily).
-I am very tall, 6ft.
-I am too curvy to play androgynous/male characters.
-I don't like exposing too much skin.
-I don't really watch anime but you can go ahead and suggest, I might like the character anyway
-I am not very good at being cute so anything too cutesy probably won't suit me!
-I love games, movies and comics, and animated TV shows.
-I am down with playing genderbent characters, as long as they're fun.

But on a less depressive note, I know you don't like cosplaying anime, but what about this lady..she's tall, she's cool and she's in Trigun Badlands Rumble!!! What is not to like??...oh and she wears a really cool cowboyhat and awesome trenchcoat! She dislikes men and tends to have a bad-ass attitude. The only problem is that her tummy is exposed..so meh

And yeah I'm bummed about rAge but... we made literally thousands of ZAR loss last year and we just can't do that again.
